The father of all creations, the starting point in every creativity saga, the first step taken in preparation for a film, animation, and TV series or any kind of production, the result of character creation is a direct characterisation that is record on a sheet.

The representation of the character’s physical, mental, psychological and social properties but also the physical appearance, personality, personal back-story and possessions is a ocean of ingredients the forms the perfect character.

The process of creating a character involves a number of decisions the will impact the story in witch he or she is going to participate,


What impact does the character design is been having going back to the beginning of the industry till the present time?


From drawing in various styles, the character designer is the bridge to the invisible magic ingredients to make them really live and perform convincingly The impact going back to the old days still have a great effect on today’s process, depending on the type of production

witch it can be a long lasting cartoon production or a short, character designers use model sheets to maintain a graphic continuity of reference template for several artists working on the same project.

The model sheet usually depict the character’s head and body as they appear at various angles, this includes sketches of the character’s hands and feet, and shows several basic facial expressions.



What is the future for character design?


The old knowledge applies to any style or approach to the medium no matter what the advances in technology, no doubt if a character design drawings foundation is strong , he will have the versatility to go in all the different directions possible, he’ll be able to draw anything from the

most difficult, realistic characters, to the most wild and wacky and it’s not likely he’ll exhaust his resources and suffer burn-out.

One of the problems today is that realistic drawing generally became considered unfashionable by the art world but in other hand most of the leading computer animators still use small sketches and still use the planning and layout exactly the same as their classical equivalents.

But skills in the industry are ditorienting in an area where this skills are highly valued because of the digital animation take over but hopefully this problem mighty have a solution in every animator responsibility to value the foundation of animation.
